GLOBAL READING CHALLENGE
"The Global Reading Challenge is a Battle of the Books program for 4th and 5th graders enrolled in Seattle Public Schools. The program encourages children to have fun and enjoy reading. After reading 10 books, children take part in a "Quiz Bowl" game to determine the winner for the city of Seattle."
In 2017-2018, our Global Reading Challenge Team made a film that we shared to open the GRC Finals event at the Central Library. For more on this project, see blog posts here and here. On October 10th, this film will be screened at Majestic Bay to open a documentary fundraiser for Northwest Immigrant Rights Project.
In 2019, we will be sharing our film at the Children's Film Fest Seattle.
This year, I will invite Cedar Park GRC participants to choose whether they would like to take part in the traditional trivia bowl or contribute another creative project. Stay tuned!
